Fast WiFi, low cost of living, 300 days of sunshine, and the best food in Spain. Valencia is the digital nomad's dream. Paul Osito explains how to set up your Mediterranean office.

Valencia Digital Nomad Guide

By Paul Osito โ€” Remote Worker, Paella-Fuelled Productivity Expert

I moved to Valencia to work remotely three years ago. I told myself it was a six-month experiment. I'm still here. The paella had nothing to do with it. (The paella had everything to do with it.)

Why Valencia?

Cost of living: 40% cheaper than Barcelona, 60% cheaper than London. A good restaurant meal costs โ‚ฌ12โ€“15. A coffee costs โ‚ฌ1.50. A month in an Osito Hub apartment costs less than a week in a London hotel.

Internet: Fast, reliable, and widely available. Our apartments have 300 Mbps fibre broadband. The coworking spaces are excellent.

Climate: 300 days of sunshine. Your productivity will improve. Your vitamin D levels will improve. Your general outlook on life will improve.

Food: You already know about the paella. But there's also the Central Market, the Ruzafa restaurant scene, the beach bars, the horchata. Your lunch breaks will become the highlight of your day.

Community: Valencia has a thriving expat and digital nomad community. The Ruzafa and Benimaclet neighbourhoods are full of remote workers from across Europe.

Best Coworking Spaces

  • Wayco Ruzafa โ€” The best coworking space in the city. Beautiful space, fast internet, excellent coffee.
  • Lanzadera โ€” Valencia's startup hub, with occasional hot desks available.
  • Impact Hub Valencia โ€” Community-focused coworking in the city centre.

Best Neighbourhoods for Nomads

Ruzafa: Hip, central, full of cafรฉs and restaurants. The nomad heartland.

Benimaclet: Student neighbourhood with excellent independent restaurants and a village feel.

El Carmen: Historic, atmospheric, central. Higher prices but extraordinary surroundings.
